BackupExecServer Service Won't Start

Hello,

We run a CASO server (SERVER1088) to manage a number of Media Servers; it has recently stopped working due to the beservice not starting. However, if I try to start it from services.msc, the error message says: "The Backup Exec service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alert service."

I also noticed that no .MSGQ files are created on the Data folder. I ran netstat and saw that port 3527 is not in use.

The only changes made to the server were 6 Windows security updates, I reviewed them and there seems to casue no conflicts with the software:

Thanks for the links; I wasn't able to find the schedmgrur.dll library to register it... in fact there is no NT folder on Backup Exec v12.

Could this file be located in another folder, or maybe exist with a different name?
