Note my spelling is bad, basically, reboot system, all is ok that day, next day if you don't manually retart services, the backup goes offline, so if restart service, and place backup online it work untill next day, and you have to restart services, and take job off of hold, till next day, does anyone see a painfull patern here!!.

Thanks in advance for your help, note server is up todate, as well as all patches install for BE 2010.

Have you checked the Event viewer for any kind of error generated when the services stopped....??

This will give you more information like at what time the services stops automatically and what are the errors due to which the services are stopped..

Also if you can paste the errors from the Event viewer it will be helpful.

Thanks,

-Sush...

Hi Larry,

I have seen an antivirus stop services. Can you verify that your services are excluded from any active AV scanning?

Thanks!

Hello Larry,

Are you running the backup jobs to the tape drive, if so can you please check if the backup job stays in the queued status for a long time with a green question mark on the job status.

Thanks

Hello Larry,

You can try the below workaround

A. Perform the tape eject operation with the tape device within 15 minutes.
B. Manually respond to the "Media Remove" alert within 15 minutes (Click "OK").
C. Configure the "Automatic Response" for media alerts to automatically respond within 15 minutes.

For more information on How to configure Alerts to be responded to automatically in Backup Exec

@Larry - Go to the BE installation directory and then use BEUtility to do a database consistency check and dump the database.  This is to ensure that the BEDB is in good shape.  If there are any errors, use the same utitlity to repair the database.

Hello Larry,

You need to configure the Automatic Respond to media remove alert by going to Tools - Alert Categories and select Media Remove.

Then enable Respond to Alert within 1 min.

Thank you
