Bengine.exe - service fails

Hi,

After upgrading to v. 12.5 we experience that the Backupexec service fails and it doesn't run any jobs, before the services are started manually. And then there is no problem running the jobs.

From the Event viewer:

Faulting application bengine.exe, version 12.5.2213.0, faulting module msvcr80.dll, version 8.0.50727.1433, fault address 0x0001508e.

I have tried reinstalling backupexec, which didn't help. All updates from Liveupdate have been installed.

It is running on a Windows 2003 server R2, standard edition.

Any suggestions?

Do you have .NET Framework ver 2.0?

If so then try reinstall it or if you have removed it try install it.

Yes, i tried reinstalling, which didn't help.

During the weekend we tried deleting all policies, selections list etc. - and this fixed the problem.

I don't what caused it.

And of course we also made all the policies again :)
