Hello,

The Jobs are Backup-to-Disk.

I found out, that there are some performance problems when I try to Backup the system drive from Windows.

Best Regards
Dominic

Hello,

The speed of Backup of Backup-to-disk folders depends on various aspects.

1. Hardware : The type of hard disk .Its read /write speed and the data transfer rate .you need to contact your hardware vendor to obtain these details.

2.System :System
Disk/File Fragmentation - Fragmented disks take a longer time to back up. Heavily fragmented hard disks not only affect the rate at which data is written to tape, but also affects the overall system performance. Fragmented files take longer to back up because each segment of data is located at a different location on the disk so instead of simply reading block after block of data, the heads on the disk must travel to a number of places to access the data. Performance can usually be improved by performing regular disk defragmenter.
System activity during backup will also slow performance on your tape drive.

3.Available Memory

The amount of available memory will impact backup speed. Insufficient memory, improper page file settings, and a lack of available free hard disk space will cause excessive paging and slow performance

To resolve the issue :

1.Run chkdsk ,scandisk and disk defragmentation on your system .

2.Backups to backup-to-disk folder can also be slow if the system is running an antivirus utility .

While performing the backup just disable the anti virus utility.

This would definitely help .
