CPS Agent/CPS Server on seperate subnet

Trying to use the CPS agent on a machine that is on a seperate subnet than my CPS server.
When attempting to launch the CPS on the target machine after an install, it pops-up the message:
The Administration Console couldn not connect to the Continuous Protection Server Continuous Management Service. Please check the status of the computer running the CPS Continuous Management Service and the network connections. Click here for more information.(ID=V-167-0-104)

The document in the url does not exist. I did do some more searching and found the article located at http://support.veritas.com/docs/279570. This did not work for my situation.

I can access both machines/both ways. Any other ideas out there?

Hi,

Did you create the "GATEWAY" key as per http://support.veritas.com/docs/279570...?

After installing Backup Exec Continuous Protection Server (CPS), the business server is not seen in the Servers folder under Setup because it does not attach to the correct backup group.

I have tried the fix in that article previously. I am not having issue with the backup group since I don't believe the agent can attach to the server in the first place.

I have ran the rxping utility on both machines.

On the CPS Agent machine I get the following error:

ENLPktPing Address Failed. ENL Error = 1086

On the CPS Server machine I get the following error:

JCD connect was unsuccessful. Error was 5.

I am experiencing a similar situation.  I have entered the gateway addresses on both machines.  From my CPS server all is successful.  From the CPS agent, everything is successful except

"EnlPktPing Address failed.  ENL Error = 1086"

The two machines are on oposite ends of a T-1, no firewall, both running windows 2003 Server Standard Edition SP1.
