Can VSS Crash a VMWARE server when the backup starts it.!

When the backup kicks off Volume Shadow Copy service & Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider Service, the VMware Server re-boot\crashes. Any ideas! These services are set to manual: just fyi...

Backup- VMWARE01AOFO: Initialization failure on: "\\VMWARE01\Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: No.
The network connection failed during the snapshot. Check the network, and then run the job again.
V-79-57344-65072 - The connection to target system has been lost. Backup set canceled.

This caused other errors too because the backup backs up servers that are hosted on the Physical vmware server...

Errors such as:
Backup- THQ01The Media Server was unable to connect to Remote Machine THQ01.
The Media Server will fall back on the local agent to try and complete the operation.
Access is denied to Remote Agent. Check the login account for the specified device.

Which version of VMware are you using>? Check if the version is listed in v10.0 SCL:

We are currently using VMWare GSX Server version 2.5.1 Build 4968...

You support a version that is greater, does that mean all versions less then your listed version GSX 3.1 are supported or only this verion alone...

I don't think this is a unique problem for VMWare. I have a file server that has AOFO installed on it. When ever this agent is upgraded, the server connects during backup, runs for a bit, then completely blows it's brains out. This time (upgraded to 10d), I uninstalled AOFO from the files server, cleaned the registry, rebooted, installed, rebooted, then configured the AOFO agent and last night, the file server blew it's brains out. Has to be booted, and unfortunately, no event log errors.
