Can't Start BackupExec12 services

Hi everyone

So I discovered a problem with our BackupExec12 setup, installed on Windows Server 2008 and has remote agent installed on all our other servers running 2008 and 2008 R2.

Having needed to perform a file restore (first one since I started the job) i kept getting authentication errors, so I reset the backupexec user password in our domain controller and restarted the backupexec services which accepted it and came backup ok.

The problem I'm getting is when I try a resource credential test/ or actually try running the restore I get the following errors:

"The data was not able to be validated"

any ideas?

BE 12.0 does not support Server 2008 R2. See the SCL below. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH56442 This could be the cause of your problem

If you are running BE 2012, do not refer to it as BE 12 which is an older version of BE. It is confusing. Add for your problem, try restoring without permissions

I'm running backupexec 12.0 as clearly noted in my last post.

How do I restore without permissions?
