Firstly, we have been backing up to external hard drives every day and need to restore a few files from one of these drives. I have run an inventory on the drive but I cannot catalog the drive. Secondly, we have been doing a weekly backup on tape and I assume that once the tape is cataloged I should be able to pull the file that I need off of the tape. However, when I try to do this I simply receive an error stating that the physical volume label drive does not exist. I have verified the backup jobs every time they run and I can also see the backups files on both the tapes and HDDs. If anyone can tell me how I might be able to catalog the HDDs and pull off the data or be able to pull the data off of the tapes it would be great...
