Cannot access MSDE

Hi all

I am having trouble getting my login details for the MSDE that BAckup Exec 9.0 has installed on my server. I need these details to continue with my Clearswift MIMESweeper install.

Does anyone have any ideas? I have tried the default "blank" password that sa uses.

Hi Aaron,

By default, MSDE installation is a part of Backup Exec installation and this database can not be shared by any other application. When the MS SQL MSDE Engine is installed it runs under the "Local System Account".You can provide the user name and password for this service to run but its highly recommended that the MS SQL MSDE service must run under the "LSA" account.

The default SA password for the MSDE SQL instance of Backup Exec is a blank password (i.e. no password). Please refer the below mentioned
technote on how to change the SA password.
