Catalog Tapes from Backup Exec 11D to 12.5

We have 2 years of Data (Monthly Backup) from our old Backup Exec 11D that we need to access.  Unfortunately we were not able to perform an upgrade on this server, to 12.5, but had to do a clean install.

For some reason every time we try to Catalog one of these older tapes, it will run for a will, but then cancel.  At present we are unable to restore data from any of these Monthly tapes, which is a big concern.

How can I gain access to the data?

Server Specs:
Windows 2003 R2 .64 bit with SP2
Backup Exec 12.5
Dell Tape Drive - 114T

Assuming there's no encryption, you should be able to read them with ntbackup.exe .  All Backup Exec backups (from at least v9, if memory serves), use the standard Microsoft format.
