Centralised Backup

At present I have backup Exec running individually on each server to its own tape device. (18 Servers)

 I want to  change this setup to a centrally managed backup to one multi load RDX device.

Can anyone tell me which products I need to install and how to achieve this.

Hi,

You don't mention the version of BE, but either way, you need to use Centralised Admin Server Option (CASO).

This allows you to centralise your backups and management onto 1 server. I've included a couple of links for you to look at which will explain this in-depth:

I should have mentioned the BE versions basically we have various BE2012, BE2010 and Backupexec 11d

additionally we have SSR 2010 and 2011 on the servers too.

I will study those links.

In this case, you need to move to 1 version. CASO is exactly the same as BE...it will work 1 version back, but only for pending upgrades.

BE 2012 CASO won't manage a BE 11d server. So you need to migrate to BE 2012 across the board for this to work.
