I've been tasked to figure out how to permanently unlock our tape library but I'm having trouble. I've followed article TECH67698,
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67698&profileURL=https%3A%2F%2Fsy...
and changed the registry key Disable Library Door Lock and assigned a value of 1. After which I restarted Backup Exec services and eventually restarted the server it runs on. From what I've read, this should allow the tape library device to remain in an unlocked state. However, when I try to pull a drawer I'm presented with the message "Library Media Removal Prevented by Host".
Backup Exec is installed on Windows Server 2008 R2
Tape Library is an HP MSL4048.
Thank you in advance.

It could be that the library was already locked when you make the registry change and changing the registry key does not unlock it. Try runing an unlock job to unlock the library and see if you can open it. If this solves your lock problem, then you can try locking it again and see whether it stays unlock.
