Change appendability

My media set was set to "not appendable", but I want my medias to now be appendable (the ones already used). How can I change them to be appendable ? I changed the media set to appendable, but that didn't change the medias themselves. Thanks a lot.

Make sure your job definition is set to Append rather than overwrite as standard first of all.

I think once you've changed the settings for the media set, anything within that should also be changed, however if that doesn't seem to be the same, try moving the media to the scratch media set, which will then basically wipe the current overwrite/append settings on the media, and they should then use the new settings within your media set.

The status of the Media will be shown as Not Appendable if the Media is full.

To reuse the media move them to Scratch Media and run the backup job.

Set the appropriate Media Set properties by referring the following Technote.
