Changing Hardware platform using IDR

Hi,

We have a customer that has a Dell Server using SBS2000 and Veritas Backup Exec 10 with IDR. If the server fails and they want to bring online a spare server which is a different make and model can this be acheived using the IDR?

I have been told it is possible using a drivers CD of some sort created by the IDR wizards. Please can you give me more information of this and point me to some technical docs if it is possible.

My understanding was that this could not be done as windows records hardware information in the registry which would not allow you to change hardware in a disaster.

I don't know the answer for sure, but BE 9.1's IDR couldn't do dissimilar hardware restore. I can't see anything to say that BE 10's IDR option can do it either. You need NetBackup for dissimilar hardware.
