Greetings, We currently have one cluster utilizing two hosts. Active and Passive hosts that hold 4 Virtual Enterprise Servers each. In addition, attached to the cluster is a MD3000i iSCSI Storage drive that holds all the data that we want to backup to tape. We are thinking of a separate dedicated Backup Server connected directly to a 4 drive SCSI PowerVault 114 system (piggybacked utilizing all 4 DLT drives), Using this scenario we are thinking of a nightly backup of our data across the LAN from the MD3000i iSCSI Storage drive to the dedicated Backup Server and then a daily tape backup utilizing the 4 DLT Tape drives on the SCSI PowerVault T114.
I plan to upgrade out current Veritas Backup Exec 10 licenses but I am unsure what we will need in this environment as it is just now being implimented. Also I receive an error on one of our Backup Media Servers that is accessing the data on the MD3000i iSCSI storage (no remote agent service on storage drive)
Any suggestions? I am all ears :)
Thank you,
Kathy
