Communication with server times out on the call 'QueryConfigurationList'

Hi

I have a problem in Exec 2014. 
When i try to convert a backup to virtual and press "edit" on the on the backup job, i receieve the "querying virtual configurations..." message. After seeing that message for a long time (10+ minutes) i get the following error. "Communication with the server timed out on the call 'QueryingCoonfigurationList'"

I can only find very limited troubleshooting on this error, and not anything that has helped me yet. 

I recently rebuild our old vCenter Server to VCSA 6.5 with new IP and Machine name. I thought that this could be the cause, but i cannot find any configuration in exec that points towards the vCenter. I should note that we have an exec 16 server aswell which we use to backup the VCSA and all the VMs. 

I hope that someone may know what the problem is.

Backup Exec 2014 does not support ESXi or VCenter versions after 5.5 update 2 (this is covered in the compatibiity list for that version of Backup Exec.
