Configure Backup Exec 10d to write backups to external hdd instead of tapes...

Hello there,

I am tring to figure out a way to get the backup process to go to an external harddrive instead of tapes,

For some reason the software wont reconize the external hdd as a backup device...

If anyone can help me, and possibly walk me through that would be great...

If this external hard drive shows up in windows explorer and you are able to access it through a drive letter, you can create a backup to disk folder in Backup Exec console. Following document explains the process:

Once created, you can use this folder as a target for backup jobs.
