Configuring Hardware Compression

I have an enterprise wide full backup that runs every Sunday morning. It is about 2 TB worth of data. The first time I ran it as a test with BE 2010 it only used one LTO4 tape. Now the compression rate was an astounding 2:9:1!  At the end of the backup 2.1 TB of data was written. It ran the second time and it used two tapes (only a 100GB on the second one). The compression ratio was 2:2:1 on the full tape and 1:6:1 on the tape that only used 100GB. My question is there anyway to specify a job to compress at a higher rate with BE 2010. I am currently using hardware compression.

Hello

Unfortunately there is no such option where you can specify the compression ratio. Hardware compression entirely

 depends on your device.

Compression is either on or off, and is highly dependent on the data types passing through the tape device.
