Try to delete from Favorite resource from an old windows server it keep asking for a logon. I have try this with the admin account to no luck?

...make sure you are using the default system logon account for BE. You can verify this under the Services tab in BE.

I guess you will have to edit BEDB to remove the entry of the server.

How do i do that? is the backup held in SQL 2005?

Disable publishing on the old windows server and see if that helps . You can do that by going to the remote agent utility on the remote server /
