Deleted a deduplication folder....the wrong way

BE2010R2

Instead of deleting the dedupe folder from BE2010R2, I deleted the dedue folder itself.  I was doing too many things at once and wasn't paying good enough attention, but I need to resolve it.

Now I can't start dedue services nor can I create a new dedupe folder.

Attempting to start the services gives me: "Could not start the Backup Exec Deduplication Engine service on Local Computer.  Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start."

Any advice?

Thanks!!!

Michael

Go to Tools/Install Options and License Keys... click through this wizard and remove the deduplication option. After that restart the BE Services and install the option again.

If the above links do not help you could try to create a dedup folder with the same settings (especially paths) on another BE server (maybe test installation), shutdown the services there, copy the files on disk to your main server and see if the services at least come up to allow proper removal.
