Device not found

I installed 10.1 (d) on a W2K server that has a Seagate Ultrum LOT drive (it is on the Veritas list as supported). Per instructions I downloaded the latest set of drivers and installed them. When I run the Wizard for installing a drive it sees the tape unit. But under BUE I see no devices.

I used the Wizard to remove drivers and restarted W2K. It did not ask about installing drivers again. Iwent thriugh the Wizard and installed. However, drive does not show as having a driver installed (yellow "?") in Device Manager (it was there before I uninstalled the drivers).

Running the BUE diagnostic the tape drive shows but has an error message about "offline error=0x0000007B (ERROR_INVALID_NAME).

I've used this drive with earlier versions of BUE on another machine.

Bottom line is I can't "see" any tape backup device from within BUE.

Hello,

Is it a standalone drive? Is it detected in the Windows device manager? If the OS does not detect it, nor will backup exec.

If that is not the case, follow the steps below:

Revert with details if the issue persists.

Regards.
