We had an existing Weds Full Backup followed by a "Duplicate Weds" jobs.
After copying the "Weds Full Backup" and saving the new job as a Month End job, the duplicate job ran immediately after the Month End job ran (on Monday October 31).
Subsequently, we deleted the Month End job and recreated it from scratch. That action removed the duplicate job entirely. The duplicate job could not be correctly recreated - if you tried creating a new duplicate job, you cannot select the "Weds Full Backup" job as a source job anymore. Yes, the "Weds Full Backup" job still existed.
The solution seemed to be to delete and recreate the "Weds Full Backup" job and then recreate the duplicate job.
Why would a job created as a copy of an existing job suddenly be attached to the existing duplicate job?
Why would we not be able to create a duplicate job with any of the valid existing backup jobs?
