EV10 Backup Exec agent

Hi

Can you tell me if the Backup Exec agent for Enterprise Vault supports the new version 10 now?

We are looking at implementing a new EV10 system for a client but I want to make sure we can back it up properly.

Thanks,

Geoff.

BE2010 R3 supports EV10.

Refer to SCL  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH137682

Yes, you can find it in the SCL of BE2010/R2/R3:

Thanks - I checked the administrator guide for R3 and it only mentions v7 and v8

Why does it say that EV10 is x86-32bit?

From the SCL

Enterprise vault is a 32 bit application. It runs in WOW mode if installed on a 64 bit Operating System

EV10 is 64bit

I just had a chat with one of our EV team and he has indicated that whilst some of EV 10 is true 64 bit, most of it stil uses 32bit running in WOW.

Well the heart of it is the indexing engine - so it probably does have parts running in WOW but I would say they are minor - I think you can definitely call it 64bit not 32.

According to the release notes

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC4441

New 64-bit indexing engine

Enterprise Vault 10.0 includes a new, 64-bit, indexing engine. To take advantage of the new engine, Enterprise Vault has undergone a significant redesign of its indexing and search components and now runs on 64-bit systems only.
