Error Backing up Sharepoint

hi,
It had been working in the past but recently i have been getting the following error while backing up my sharepoint environment using v. 12.5 with all the latest updates installed.  Any ideas?

Hello,

This is credential issue, Is your backup exec account member of sharepoint admin group? If sharepoint server is not a domain controller add backup exec account in the local admin group.

Add the Backup Exec Service Account in the "SharePoint Farm administrators group"

I checked that and the accounts are there and look fine.  As I said, it was working before.
What else should I check?

were there any recent changes in the configuration od sharepoint...any policy...etc?

There may have been.. i'm not the sharepoint developer.   how do i check what policies have changed or anything like that?
