Error : e0008488 - Access is Denied

I setup my back up to backup the Exchange Information Store, so i could have a backup of all the mailboxes.
Received a message that my backup failed, here was the error it gave me:

Error : e0008488 - Access is denied
For additional information regarding this error refer to V-79-57344-33928

I went through that entire article and still it fails when trying to just backup the information store.

When I go into my backup job and select resource credentials then put the user I created called backup as the login account for Exchange and then test it, it tells me Sucessful for Exchange and for First Storge Group it tells me Sucessful - Used Server Credentials (Please see attached screen shot)
.
The backup user has admin rights as well as well as being added to both exchange groups and I have added the account to the Exchange Server under delegate control.
I have added the user as a local admin to the exchange server.
I have recently updated Backup Exec from version 64(something) to 7170

I am not sure what else to do, any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

I suspect that you are using Backup EXEC 11D version 7170.
Can you tell me the version of your exchange, like Exchange 2003 or 2007.
Did you redeploy your agents after the upgrade.

Having the same issue myself.

Win 2K3 RS2 SP2 - 64 Bit, Exchange 2007, BE 11d 7170 SP4 including hotfix 64

Same error number, same credentials check result.

The test backup job runs sucessfully, but when i run the real backup job, it fails with the same error numbers.

This has started after applying Symantec's latest SP and hotfixes, as well as latest security updates from MS for our server.

*Edit*

Here is a screensot of the Updates installed on the server as faras windows and exchange goes.

Also Ive included a screenshot of the test job setup and it runs perfectly.

Another thing I have noticed is that while BE reports bacup failed, the amount of information stored on the backup tape is increasing, so it seems to be performing some backup operation.
