Hello I need a help with symantec backup exec

We have backup exec 12.5 ver.

When the job starts It lasts about 10 hours and then fails

Why files are corrupted? why it takes so long to make backup? ussualy it takes 3-4 hours.

What settings for AOFO should i use? Default?

I find that i can turn on AOFO in tools > options > Advanced Open File

and directly in job properties, in which place should i turn them on?

...turn it to On for the second option (your job)...the first setting is a global setting.

...it could be, yes. If you increase the level of logging you can see which servers are taking the longest time.

If this is a new thing, make sure that the AV on your server/s isn't scanning the BE services. If so, put in exclusions for them.

I lunch job about 1 hour ago, waiting to see log.

As it turns out the problem was that the size of the backup can not fit on one cassettes, and at night when nobody was watching for it, the backup is canceled due time out.

OK, so you can either delete illegal files like *.mp3s etc; change the backup job to INCR/DIFF or look at buying a larger tape drive.

If this is a library/autoloader, you can also make sure that you have tapes that are appendable/overwritable which will allow the job to continue, and if there are partitions involved, you'd have to increase those partitions.

Now i`m waiting when verify will be finished, it takes about 4 and half hour to write 320 gb of data. now i need to wait about 3 hour, if everything will be ok, we`ll just buy new tape with bigger size.
