Hello,

Cyclic redundancy check error is generic in nature and can be caused by numerous factors.
Please refer the following technote to troubleshoot the issue.
Title:
"Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" (00000017 HEX) is reported in the Backup Exec job log during a failed backup/verify operation

Hi!

The tape robot has run for a long time, the all of a sudden no jobs runs. Very strange. The tape drive is cleaned. No changes to scsi or tape driver configuration has been made. I will try with brand new tapes but i wonder if that will solve the problem.

Any other thoughts?

Hi!

I have tried with new tapes and the results are the same.
If I make I new smaller (about 1GB) job it works. But if i run the normal backup job it fails. I have also tried to make a new "normal backup job" but it also fails.

Any ideas?

Regards Henrik

Hi,

Approx. how much data is being backed up in a single job ?

I would suggest you to divide the backup into 2-3 smaller jobs and check out the results.

Also, to isolate the cause of the issue, try taking the same backup on a B2D folder.

Please keep us updated on the progress of the case.
