I have seen this error in other posts but under different curcumstances. I will try to make a long story short.
I was reconfiguring BE when it went offline all of a sudden. Turned out that RPC service disappeared and so a lot of stuff stopped working. Turned out that it suddenly disappeared from registry. I fixed that buy importing the relevant registry entries. So RPC is good now.
The only problem I have at the moment is with the job engine. All dependent services look ok Yet when I try to start the service withing BE I get the following error:
Error starting the service Backup Exec Job Engine on BL17.
The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.
I get a similar error when attempting to start from Windows Service Manager. All other BE services are running
Since I had a registry problem earlier I am wondering if the job engine registry settings (or others) are OK. Any advice? Should I edit registry? Reinstall BE? If I reinstall will my old b/u files still be restorable? Etc,
