Hi all,
i have a dedup job that copy a couple of vm (using vmware agent) to an iscsi storage.
After the job i receive an error at the beginning of the verifying process. The error say to check if there is an error in the read/write process, and to check the destination storage if it's a disk..blablabla
In the event viewer i can see two errors:
I have other job like this, for other vm, scheduled in different day, and they works fine, both backup and verify process.
someone can halp me?
Thanks

Hello there,
It seems that the Dedupe service (spoold.exe) is crashing when the verify job starts. You can try to start the verify job seperately (outside the main backup job) to see if it gives the same result.

I have seen that these services:
Bexec PureDisk (manual startup)
PostgreSQL (automatic startup)
Bexec Deduplication Engine (automatic startup)
are all stopped.
I haveIdone SP1a but without changes
My dedeup repository is still marked as offline.
If i try to start manually these services, deduplication engine doesn't start
I have tryed this solution http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH152886
but the error i have received is different, see attachment

Hello there,
Some of the .bin files and .bhd files are missing from the dedupe folder. Till those files are recovered I don't think dedupe folder will come Online ... as service would not start.
I would again request to open a Support case as the Support engineers will surely be able to help you to get back those bin files.
Thanks,

I've had had a similar problem and in the end I had to reinstall the complete dedup folder/license/device.
In the first step the service coulnd't start - like your problem.
A few weeks later the same phenomen - but the complete dedup folder was GONE !
My assumption was it has had something to do with using a trial dedup license, and somewhen afterwards it was a mess of uninstalling / wrong license keys and all that stuff.
Did you use a "real dedup" key from the start on ?

If i delete dedup repository and restart the backup job, will dedup services restart?
