Running Backup Exec 2012 with Backup Exec agent on Exchange Server 2003.
When the scheduled backup runs on the Exchange 2003 server, both POP3 access and ActiveSync (for smartphones) stops working. Regular email from Outlook works fine. When I cancel the backup, POP3 and ActiveSync almost immediately start working again. Anyone ever experienced this? Any solution? Suggestions?
Thanks

Hi,
What is your setup like? Have you selected the option to take the Information Store offline during the backup itself?
Do you have the latest SP for BE 2012 installed with the agents being updated afterwards?

Hello FWM,
Ensure that Advanced Open File Option (AOFO) is not enabled in the backup job. Disable the AOFO option and then run the backups. AOFO backups of Exchange 2003 is not at all recommended.
Let us know the result.
