Hello everybody,

I'm using BE 12.5 SP3 in a Win2003 64bit server with a SL500 tape library and when I start daily jobs in 45 min-2 hr I receive this error. I tried almost everything. I repaired BE installation, I disabled the antivirus client, I updated the server with new Windows and BE patches. But it didnt worked.

Faulting application bengine.exe, version 12.5.2213.172, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.4480, fault address 0x000000000000dd50.

I will be very happy if somebody can help me.

Thanks in advance

To isolate and fix the issue, try the following the steps:
1. Perform a disk-based backup to eliminate the tape device issue and if it works on disk then try the below steps
2. Clean the tape drive.
3. Run an inventory and quick erase on the tape media.
4. Insert a different tape, preferably a brand new piece of media.
5. Check the properties on the tape drive(s) in Windows Device Manager to ensure that the latest Symantec Tape Device Drivers are installed. Install the latest drivers for the tape drive if available. For information about downloading and installing the latest Symantec drivers, please refer to the following link  http://www.symantec.com and then search for "Downloads".
