Full backup successful but not showing on catalog

I have noticed a problem recently with missing restore selections on tapes.

new tape inserted and labelled on a Friday morning. Full backup scheduled for 01:00 Saturday morning. Backup log confirms backup and verification completed succesfully. An incremental backup is carried out on Sunday at 23:00 again successful. On Monday I checked the restore options, the full backup is not showing and the incremental is. This has been the case on the last 4 tapes that I have checked.

I havere-catalogued the tapes to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and can anyone suggest a reason/solution.

Sounds like the INCR is ovewriting the FULL

 

Couple things to check

Is the INCR job Overwrite or Append?

What is the OPP of the Media Set the FULL writes to?

From Tools\Options\Media management, make sure that either FULL or PARTIAL is selected

Check the joblog and see which media is used for the jobs, then in the restore selection list, click on the View by Media tab and click on the correct tape.
