I am using the AOFO option to backup my W2003 Server.
Each time I run the backup job I get some new Volume Shadow Copies which are displayed in the Device Manager under "Volume Shadow Copy / Generic Volume Shadow Copy" (if you display the hidden items).
Do these Generic Volume Shadow Copies stay on the system for ever until I manually delete them ?
Is there any point in keeping older copies ?
Finally : sometimes when I'm running the backup job these Generic Volume Shadow Copies show up in the Device Manager as disabled and I have to re-enable them in order for the backup to continue.
This does not always happen but it means that I can not always rely on my backups to complete successfully. Does anybody know what causes them to become disabled ?
Thanks
Peter
