I'm running Backup Exec 10d with Compaq Storage Works MSL 5026 with 2 tape drives. We do a differential backup daily and full backup of several servers on the weekend. I'm getting a "The device timed out error". "The semaphore timeout period has expired". It only happens when backing up the file server. All other servers back up ok. All Symantec service packs have been installed. Any help would be appreciated.
We have had the same issues with a library and 1 tape drive. We found it was an issue with the scsi controller. Try updating the driver, firmware for the controller, see if that makes a difference.
