Previously, I allowed the same tape sets to be used for multiple backups, I have since changed, but, I am trying to restore data from 12/2009 and I am having problems...
1. Looking at the specific files (SQL Server database .BAK files), the 12/8/2009 Incremental backup includes the MEDIA LABELS: 226L3, 252L3
2. I have put both tapes back in the system and they are there and I can 'start' the catalloging process on both of them.
3. NOTE: When I select the specific backup, the Media Labels actually says: 000226L3 (Missing), 000252L3
4. 226L3 is there, but, when I catalog 226L3, it eventually asks for 213L3 (related to other incremental backups that overlapped onto 226L3), which is not available, so, the catalogging never finishes. (I think that is why 226L3 is marked as 'missing'.)
5. NOTE: 226L3 and 252L3 are the only tapes used during the incremental sql server backups.
6. QUESTION: What can I do to get to the .bak files that are on 226L3?
-HELP!

Use this KB to catalog your tapes - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH83109
After this, attempt the restore again

Change the Media ID from 226L3 to 000226L3. Netbackup takes 6 Digits for media.
And try the restoration.
