We are currently running Backup Exec 2012 SP4 on a Windows 2008 R2 server. For security reasons we need to upgrade the SQL 2005 Express to SQL 2012 Express. I am looking for some instructions on how to do this with the least amount of headaches. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Yes this is supported. Before doing ANY upgrade, just grab copies of the Data/Catalogs folders after stopping the BE services as this will provide you with a manual rollback if required.
Thanks!

Hi,
SQL Express 2012 is not supported with BE 2012. You need to upgrade to BE 2014 to get support.
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response! I do not have approval, at this time, to upgrade Backup Exec 2012 to 2014. Could I upgrade from SQL 2005 Express to SQL 2008 Express?
