How to manage exclusion list Virtual Machines

Hello,

Software uses: Backup Exec 12.5

In my selection list I would like to exclude certain folders from a virtual machine. Hower, I only see the .vmdk, .vmx files...
How can I exclude files/folder from on the C:\ drive?

With the avvi license we backup the virtual machine as a database so we can't exclude anything from it. It will going to backup the complete data in the form of vmdk.

If you want to exclude the files from being backed up the only way would be to install the remote agent on the virtual machine and perfrom backup . As using the Micrsoft agent for virtual machine or using the AVVI agent  you can backup the complete Vm and if the backup is taken using GRT then it allows GRT restore ...

Thank you all for your swift response.

We also use the AVVI. One or two folders are not supporting GRT and give alerts in our job report. That's why I wanted them to exclude.

IS the backup job failling because of that ? what excatly are the erros you getting.?

The job is not failing, but ends with alerts. See attachment for screenshot.
