I am currently testing the water before we look at rolling out the desktop and laptop option. We are looking to backup to a central location so this means that the backups will be going over the WAN. The trouble with this is that the initial transfer will be quite large if users have lots of data that needs protecting.
Is there a way I can use an offline backup of the data, say on a DVD or USB drive, to provide the initial copies of the files so DLO doesn't have to copy everything over the network?
Could I just copy it to the server and then use this folder as the network user data folder?
