Hi all
Long time BEWS user, but not very knowledgable with it. I know enough to set it up from scratch to do the basic things, but..
I dawned on me the other day that if disaster really struck, what good is a backup system if I dont know how to utilise it properly to restore quickly?
I know how to restore files, no problem. What I am talking about is a complete server failure or something similar.
At the moment I am backing up System State for example, but I have no idea what this is or how/when to restore from it.
So the question is - what can BEWS12 restore, how, and under what conditions?
A few examples I am thinking of:
DC Server loses it array (say multiple disks fail and an array rebuild is not possible)
Media Server fails
A server becomes unbootable due to possible registry corruptions
etc
