In Backup Exec 2012 i get message, the disk is offline.

Hello,

I'm using Backup exec 2012 since last 15 days. i have installed and congfigured backup exec for my HP Autoloader tape drive.

i have configured jobs and assigned it to tape slots, but when jobs going to run it gives error message that "the disk is offline, please check hardware is powered on and cable is connected".

I'm able to take backup on disk. just problem with tape drive.

please help me to reslove this issue.

On the Storage tab, right-click on the tape library and then pause and unpause it.  Try again.

If this fails, then run the HP LT&T utility against the library.  Make sure that you select the write test and that you have stopped all the BE services beforehand.

Hi

Please enusre for your HP tape drive , you have installed latest symantec drivers & medium changer is Unknown with BE 2012 is on sp1a

Also ensure if the following serivces for HP are present then please disable them & do a power cycle by powring off the library & then power of the media server. Power on library first wait for it to initalized & then power on media server.

   -  HP Insight Server Agents
   -  HP Insight Storage Agents
   -  HP Insight Foundation Agents
   -  HP WMI Storage Providers service
