Inconsistent Job Rate performance Backups

I am having an issue of inconsistant Job rate performance. That is to say sometimes my backup jobs run at 597MB/s and are finished within 6 hours. Othertimes the job runs at 100mb/min and lates 45-50 Hours to run. There are no major errors its just the performance sucks. Rebooting, stopping-starting services, updating drivers has had no affect.

I am using
Adaptec 39160 Ultra-160 SCSI card
Powervault 132T LTO
Backup Exec 9.1

1.please check whether the device is "tested" in the list below, if yes then please install latest veritas drivers from the link below:
HCL for Robotic library:

If not tested then please install latest manufacturers and then verify the result.
