Inventory Jobs

We are using Veritas 9.1 for Windows on a Windows 2000 server.

Whenever we change tapes and submit an inventory job, the job goes to a ready state and never starts running.

Even if we stop and restart services, the inventory job stays in a ready state.

How do we get these inventory jobs to run?

Standalone drive or library?

Are you current on firmware an d drivers for both the SCSI card and tape drive/library? Is the drive/library on the HCL?

Are you using manufacturer drivers or Veritas drivers? Have you tried switching?

We have a Dell 136T stand alone tape library device. It is not attached to a SAN.

We have just upgraded the firmware and drivers (within the past two days) on the SCSI controller. The firmware on the tape device was upgraded about two months ago.

We were using Veritas drivers and just switched to Dell drivers.
