Is Backup Exec 12.5 For Windows Small Business Server compatible running on a Hyper-V Host ?

We have Windows Small Business Server 2008 running as a Hyper-V Host (not on the core) It keeps crashing the host when we run backup jobs with Backup Exec 12.5 For Small Business Server 2008. We intend to backup the Host Servers data.

 

 

We have tried backing up using Backup2Disk folders both on the host server itself and on network shares (USB Disks and shared Workstation drives)

 

Does anybody know if this is a supported environment or do we have to install Backup Exec on a physical server and use the VM Agent/Remote Agent for backing up the Hyper-V Host ?

I should have said above the Small Business Server 2008 is not on the host, it's a Guest OS, the rest remains the same... Sorry.

Backup Exec can be installed on Hyper-V guest and can be used to backup virtual as well as physical machines. 

How much memory is allocated to the virtual machine ?

Are you running multiple jobs at same time ?
