Hi!!
Somebody how to fix this problem?
BE 2012 Server: Windows Server 2008 R2
br506mn01 server: OS Linux / Agent installed
Follow the exception:
Backup- VMVCB::\\vcentersa\VCGuestVm\(DC)BR506: SP(DC)\vm\br506mn0V-79-57344-38730 - Backup Exec failed to authenticate with virtual machine '\(DC)BR506: SP(DC)\vm\br506mn01 and was unable to collect the necessary metadata to restore individual application items. You cannot perform GRT-enabled restores of application data from this backup. You must edit the credentials for the host computer's backup job and then select the proper credentials for the virtual machine.
V-79-57344-38725 - One or more virtual disks contain volumes that do not support Granular Recovery Technology (GRT). Granular restores cannot be performed for these volumes.
thanks,
Bruno

Hi
It looks like you are doing linux VM backup using backup exec 2012 vmware agent , but you need to know few things first before doing the backup
1 First of all Backup Exec doesn't support GRT backup of linux VM so only option is to backup the entire vmdk of linux VM
2 So to achieve this please make a seperate job by adding linux vm and other such VM for which GRT is going to be disable and this should help to resolve the above issue
Hope that helps
Thanks

You need to install the Linux agent inside the VM and back it up as if it was a physical server. Either that or disable GRT for this VM.
