Job completed with Exceptions ???

My backup completed successfully except there were 31 files that were skipped. Is this normal? I noticed some of the files were from a data and time collection software (JOBOSS) that is critical to the company so it definately needs to be backed. Im assuming that the Panda antivirus will always be in there unless stopped while running backup. If anyone has a script that i could use for that it would be great. I copied the files that were skipped. I will post them below. Any help would be appreciated.
thank you.

Hello,

Are these files in use during the backup job? If yes, are you using the Advanced open file option to backup open files?

This option enables the backup of open files. If it is not installed, you may choose to back them up with a lock or not back them up at all. These settings are found in the advanced option tab of the backup job properties window.

Thus you will need to use the AOFO option to backup open files else it will skip them. You can contact our sales team for more information on this option:

What exactly is a backing up with a lock? Do i need the AOFO to do that?

Hi,

If the files are being used during backup, AOFO is required to back up these files. Refer: http://support.veritas.com/docs/263784

In the Job Properties Advanced Tab there are 4 options
a)Never: skips open files if they are encountered during the backup operation.

b)If closed within x seconds : the specified time interval for files to close before skipping the open file and continuing the backup operation.
c)With a lock: Backup Exec attempts to open files that are in use. If Backup Exec is able to open a file, the file is locked while it is being backed up to prevent other processes from writing to it.
d)Without a lock: Backup Exec attempt to open files that are in use. If Backup Exec is able to open the file, the file is NOT locked while it is being backed up.

Thanks!
