Job won't delete

Currently, when you look on the job monitor tab, there is a restore job that has been stuck there for more than a year, and it cannot be deleted. When you try to delete the job, the warning box comes up asking you if you want to delete the job, if you say yes, the box disappears, but the job does not. How can i delete this job? i have never had a problem deleting any previous job. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

looks like u encountered a known problem with still no easy-going solution.

it seems that the current official advice is to replace the damaged database with a empty one and reconfigure everything from scratch. maybe i missed something important here due to my bad english, but that concept looks for me like a chicken in a sandstorm and makes me think jokey smurf wrote it down.

however, my current strategy is to immediately restore the backup server to the last-known-good when this will happen again (http://forums.veritas.com/discussions/thread.jspa?threadID=50171&messageID=4379166#4379166).

sorry, that this is no option for getting rid of your 1-year-stucked-job. but it seems that this one doesnt disturb your daily backup ops.

Hi,

Is it an active job? If yes, restart the backup exec services. If it is not, try repairing the daatbase with the help of the following document:

I have pretty much the same problem. I have two restore jobs which won't delete. They both have no files selected. I think the problem is caused when two jobs use the same selection list. If you delete one job, there is an automatic prompt to delete the selection list. If you unthinkingly click "yes", the other job is left behind as an orphan. Nothing I've read in the forum has got rid of them yet!

Nice theory!  But my stuck job is a "Catalog" job.
