Hi,

We have Symantec Backup Exec 2012 installed on Windows server 2008 R2 server. We are getting below error

The trial period for one or more options expires within 14 days. After the trial period expires, you must enter a license key to use these options. For information about how to obtain a license key, contact your reseller or go to the following URL: https://redirector.symantecstore.com/ipl/trialware.jsp?product_id=A110&locale=en_US Options that are set for expiration: Deduplication Option 12 days remaining

Could you suggest me about this warning to which it is related to.

Thanks

Nitin Ranjan

...you need to check the licensing wizard within BE itself. You will see some sort of count down on an application that is like 46 of 60 days left.

This is the application you either need to leave to countdown to 0 if you're not going to license it, or contact a reseller/Symantec licensing department to get that application agent licensed.

if you already have the license, check the *.slf file you received from Symantec to see if it hasn't got trial licenses included, and then contact Symantec to send a new file.

Thanks!

Click on the BE button then click on Installation and Licencing and License Info to see what licenses you have on trial. If you intend to use them after the trial period, then you need to install the proper license before the end of the trial period. Otherwise your backups will fail

It seems the Deduplication option is set to expire after 12 days. As suggested above either purchase

the license or simply uncheck the option at the end of the trial period.

...thanks for confirming the posts above.

Also, if a trial license expires, has Symantec now changed the behaviour of this to allow you to deselect it? Previously this would've expired completely with no way to remove the expired license.

Thanks!
