I recently installed a new Linux agent on our Linux Redhat Server Version 3.
Currently we are running the following kernel version: 2.4.21-4.ELsmp
The following GCC library is in use: gcc version 3.2.3
It is possible to see resources in our BE server and to select items like:
/
/var
/mnt
…
When we try to initiate the job to make the backup, the process starts but ends with this error:
Job ended: Wednesday, November 02, 2005 at 9:16:14 AM
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe000846b - The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent.
Make sure that the Remote Agent is installed on the target computer and is running.
Final error category: Resource Errors
I used the following options at the Linux/Unix tab:
Follow local mount points
Follow remote mount points
Lock remote files
The client and server are both present at the host file. So normally the system must be capable to resolve the hostnames, DNS works also.
We use your product to backup all our Windows 2000/2003 servers without any problems.
