MSDE to SQL Server Conversion

After installing Backup Exec Server (BES) with MSDE, I later installed MS SQL 2000 server. I don't think that MSDE and SQL 2000 server play well together so I believe that it is in my best interest to get BES to use SQL 2000. Other than reinstalling BES, does anyone have any procedures that would allow me to move from MSDE to SQL 2000?
