We have a problem on our Win2003 server in that the MSSQL$BKUPEXEC service won't start. I reinstalled Sophos Enterprise manager yesterday which also uses the MSDE and I think this may have something to do with it!
Has anyone got any idea's of how to get started or fix the backup exec instance of MSDE? The error I get when I try to start it is: "The MSSQL$BKUPEXEC service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the performance logs and alerts service."
